Stephen Cue Maker of the Year

Steven joined the company in 1979 at the age of 18, learning the trade directly from his father. With over 47 years of hands-on experience, he brought unique innovations to the cue-making process and earned his own place of distinction in the industry. Thanks to his hard work and passion for the craft, Steven became a major partner in designing and creating Joss Cues®. In 2017, his excellence was recognized nationwide when the American Cue Makers Association named him Cue Maker of the Year.

Dan Founder & Legacy Cue Maker

Our first president and CEO, Dan, co-founded the company in 1968. Four years later, he took full control of the business and has been crafting original Joss Cues ever since. Over the years, Dan expanded the business, moved to a new facility, and welcomed his family into the heart of the operations, keeping the legacy alive and thriving.

Dan Janes was a highly influential figure in the world of cue making.

His commitment to combining functionality with aesthetics allowed his cues to stand out as high-quality tools for players while remaining works of art.

Debbie has been married to Dan for more than 44 years and has been vital to the company's success. When she first started at Joss Cues, she worked hands-on in the shop—cutting shafts, gluing tips, and placing intricate inlays. As the business grew, her talents were transitioned to the front office, where she now manages day-to-day operations and seamlessly coordinates with the shop to keep the company running smoothly.
